The Vice President of Sales & Marketing is a vital member of the executive management team in both an internal & external facing role that will include frequent interactions w/ customers, downstream industry players & the Company’s Board of Directors.
Develop, lead & execute the strategic sales plan in support of Corporate long term goals
Leader of commercial engagement of customers & manage all aspects of the account management & service including to identify, evaluate & lead organic & M&A driven business development/growth initiatives in new markets, products & technologies.
Compile ongoing competitive & industry intelligence on a regular basis & publish related reports to validate business forecasts & facilitate business decisions
Be the “go to” person for market knowledge, insight & market input into key decisions.
Provide strategic sales & marketing leadership across functions & be accountable for developing & executing the overall business / growth strategy.
Continuous learning of the business, its products & services & competitive environment.
Promote profitable growth by partnering w/ the CEO, Technology President & senior leadership team as a leader of change & strategic business growth.
Sales & Business Development throughout all functions of business.
Responsible for the sales & marketing component of the annual business plan & insures alignment to the overall goals & strategy of the business.
Create appropriate pricing strategies & commercial decisions in conjunction w/ the President which are consistent w/ the business strategies
Collaborate effectively w/ the Research & Development team to facilitate the Stage Gate Process for new products & technology
Manage the priorities for customer technical support w/ the Vice President of R&D.
Initiate, evaluate, execute & maintain key strategic alliances, partnerships, & collaborations as they pertain to the Company’s business
Compile & present business development case analysis for senior management & the company’s Board of Directors.
Instigate & lead an industry-wide coalition to market the brand capacitor end user OEM’s…promoting the material’s supply stability, technical superiority & ethical source. Market Research/Analysis
Direct market & business analyses to influence commercial decisions & provide detailed business reports & models including risk & probability analysis. Maintain market & business condition information through information packages, databases etc. for ease of distribution.
Market research analysis & execution of organic & M&A driven growth initiatives w/in & beyond the industry (for example in the emerging Additive Manufacturing space)
Research appropriate industries using professional associations, journals & Internet & university research. Gather competitive intelligence relative to downstream customers & markets. Market/Competitive Knowledge
Develop marketing strategies to optimize profit, revenue & market share. Provide in-depth marketing knowledge to the strategic plan including market trends, competitive activity, value setting & new market development. Compile & analyze market position information categorized by market share, competition, functional substitutes & industry trends.
Conduct & interpret competitive analysis to identify market share, sales & feedstock sourcing trends & emerging markets. Develop insights across multiple studies & competitive information to influence strategy & decision making.
Recommend product, sales & marketing actions based on research & competitive findings. Interface w/ Sales, R&D & Operations to support the goals of the business. Reporting & Presenting
Represent Company externally including, for example, presenting at industry related associations, Board meetings etc.
Responsible for the collection of competitive data & publish periodic reports to communicate status & trends in the marketplace.
Generate monthly reports on the divisional sales, products, prices, market trends, competitive analysis, & raw material movement. Communicate actions regarding performance & opportunities for the Business Corporate Communication
Participate in the development & communication of the marketing strategy & campaign including timeframe, delivery method, audience, & message. Create & oversee the production of all marketing materials.
Ensure that the division is represented in appropriate professional journals & publications. Values • Adheres to all intellectual property standards; safety, health & environmental guidelines, policies & procedures & encourages/requires other personnel to do the same as appropriate

6-10+ years of experience in advanced materials, metals, semiconductor, electronics, or other related industry. Preference of 10+ years of successful sales & marketing management experience gained in technical industrial organizations (that have identified several distinct target markets & have successfully helped expand their product or portfolio while effectively reaching broader markets & increasing a target market’s share).
Expert level knowledge of super alloys, advanced metals materials, ceramics & advanced specialty materials, as well as, their respective applications in industrial, electronics, aerospace, defense, personal computing, medical, specialty chemicals/coatings & other relevant markets. Technical degree & experience is preferred.
Demonstrated track record of success in Industrial B2B Product Marketing, new product development, pricing, stage gate & product management will be essential.
Broad technical & commercial acumen w/ a strong understanding of critical industry drivers, value chains, & emerging trends across the relevant markets.
Practical experience & expertise w/ strategic marketing tools including customer value analysis, voice of the customer, customer & market segmentation, pricing strategies, competitive analysis & portfolio management.
Global sensibility & proven experience delivering value added solutions through integrating competencies in advanced materials.
A track record of completing a diversity of successful business transactions, such as alliances, collaborations, partnerships, joint ventures, & co-development agreements across the Company’s sectors.
Demonstrated track record linking competitive analysis to business results through the use of competitive intelligence & industry reports.
Proven ability to build, communicate & execute operational & tactical strategies / plans that have led to measurable success.

EDUCATION & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Engineering or technical undergraduate degree, w/ a strong preference for a second degree (Masters or otherwise) in marketing, or a related strategic business discipline
10+ years of experience in a related marketing, sales, or technical assignment in a manufacturing environment
Travel Requirements (up to 25% of time) including international travel
