  • Small office, they will consider candidates that went from public accounting and spent a couple years in corporate and want to get back into public.
  • CPA required, seeking heavy manager that will eventually take over the tax practice for the office.
  • Book of business is not required.
Minimum Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred in Accounting, Taxation, or related field.
  • 6 years’ experience in public accounting or related field with 3 years’ supervisory experience.
  • Ability to manage all aspects of client engagements.
  • Ability to communicate, verbal/written, throughout all levels of organization, internally and externally.
  • Must be able to travel based on client and business needs.
  • Proficient use of applicable technology.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Serve as client’s trusted advisor, demonstrate knowledge of industry trends, identify client issues/conflicts, and proactively communicate solution options to client and team.
  • Manage staff on engagement deliverables.
  • Complete technical/strategic reviews as a member of the final engagement review team to ensure quality control standards are met timely and on budget.
  • Understand the client’s organization, procedures, and internal policies.
  • Oversee new client development in partnership with upper management and participate in client meetings, presentations, and proposal development.
  • Manage and retain multiple client relationships, engagements, and special projects.
  • Develop overall engagement budget and consistently meet charge hour goals.
  • Oversee billing and realization on assigned clients and explain variances.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor staff and listen/communicate effectively.
  • Foster a team environment, support management and decisions, and build a positive culture.
  • Participate in practice development activities that lead to the generation of new business.
