SENIOR DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER - FACTORY AUTOMATION

Under minimal supervision, develop the company's Factory Automation (FA) products and provide technical support to partners. May also need to research the technical trend, communicate and negotiate with partners and Japan.

Position Duties and Responsibilities
Plan, manage and execute developing of product. This includes, but is not limited to, the following activities:
Establish an efficient and effective way to develop (include testing) product to meet our development style and market needs
Communicate and negotiate with our partner company to fix defects and achieve proper quality
Provide advanced technical support to the company's development partner company via phone, email or on-site. This includes, but is not limited to, the following activities:
Give a lecture on our FA equipment
Reply to questions and solve problems with profound knowledge of FA equipment
Prepare and provide configurations or programs for FA equipment
Maintain current knowledge of new products, competitor’s products and general application software technologies, through self-study, communicating with other members and seminar attendance
Provide pre and post technical support to the company's Industrial Automation (IA) marketing as necessary but within proper timeframe. Business trip to customer site maybe required
Research new technology trends as required by company or other members.
Other duties as assigned
 
Travel Requirements
Up to 30% travel for partner and customer support within North America. Possible occasional travel to Japan
 
Required Skills:

Essential Education, Skills and Experience
Engineering degree
5 or more years experience as a developmental engineer in factory automation environment
Excellent work ethic
Attention to detail, organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines
Some Japanese language experience (conversation, writing, reading)
Strong Interpersonal and Communication skills
Ability to work well with others
Computer proficiency
Familiar with Industrial Automation (IA) equipment
Experience develop software with C#/C++/Java

Beneficial Education, Skills and Experience
Translator experience
Experience using IA products (PLCs, Servos, robots, etc.)
Knowledge of the Japanese Culture as it pertains to business conduct and communication
