Position Summary

Seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join company’s income tax accounting team. The team is primarily responsible for ensuring consolidated US GAAP income taxes and related balances are properly stated and disclosed in Company’s consolidated financial statements. The Senior Tax Accountant will have 25% global income tax accounting duties and 75% US Federal and state income tax accounting duties. This role exists to develop income tax accounting skills applicable to a large multi-national entity and a broad knowledge of Company’s global operations and consolidated financial information. The Accountant will report to the Director of Global Income Tax Accounting.
 
Minimum Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent degree, CPA preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ relevant experience in application of Accounting for Income Taxes under US GAAP.
  • Experience with complex projects and geographically diverse teams.
  • Experience with a US multinational corporation or BIG 4 public accounting firm preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and experience with domestic and international corporate tax laws.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Adaptable with excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership, analytical, and problem solving skills.
  • Self-starter with confidence in ability to make decisions and interact with all levels of management.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to take large amounts of information and quickly summarize/provide appropriate conclusions.
  • Experience using systems applications (CorpTax, OneSource, Tax Provision, HFM, JD Edwards, Office, etc.).
 
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Prepare quarterly calculations of US Federal and state tax provisions, including related tax accounting journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Perform quarterly analysis of US deferred income taxes, including maintenance of tax basis balance sheet.
  • Perform quarterly analysis of reserves for Uncertain Tax Positions.
  • Perform quarterly variance analysis and reconciliations of income tax balances in global consolidated balance sheet.
  • Assist in ongoing maintenance of SOX 404 documentation.
  • Perform annual reconciliation of tax return to book tax provision, including preparation of required journal entries.
  • Analyze tax accounting process improvements and adapt best practices.
  • Participate in and support ongoing projects/initiatives and additional work as assigned by management.
