Job Description
Work for a leader in the Pharmacy Benefit Management/Health Insurance industry.  The Senior Proposal Strategist is responsible for crafting high-quality proposals that help grow sales, retain clients and improve the financial performance of the company, as well as improving the effectiveness of our responses to requests for proposals (RFP), requests for information (RFI), requests for quotes/re-price (RFQs).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Refine and update proposal content to ensure alignment with best practices in the industry, differentiation from competitors and accurate reflection of business processes and programs
  • Assist with defining win strategies and create proposals for our highest priority sales and retention opportunities
  • Provide quality assurance through proofreading, editing, coaching and supporting other team members in the development of their proposals and adoption of new business processes and practices
  • Assess how planned changes, new business strategies and market events impact RFP responses and overall proposal quality
  • Leverage marketing and proposal experience to support the continuous improvement of proposal presentation and effectiveness of design and copy
·         Lead efforts to collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) throughout the organization to effectively address pending business or process changes, market events, new data and competitive intelligence to create persuasive proposal content
·         Create and deliver complex, large and/or high profile proposals, including personal assessment of each RFP, RFI, RFQ to identify gaps in company’s capabilities, requests for exceptions to contractual preferences and standards, win strategies, and project plan timelines
·         Manage projects and coordinate cross-functional teams needed to complete proposals, addressing risks to the project plan, escalation of issues, gaps or delays and accountability for quality and timeliness
·         Review appropriate legal content and contractual language for consistency with proposal language
·         Assist with financial pricing analysis and review with sales
·         Ensure final approvals and reviews are completed, including thorough review of final draft documents for accuracy, cohesiveness of responses, content flow and organization, syntax/grammar and format specifications
·         Assist with the development of improved workflow practices for the proposal team and adoption of new processes, technologies and tools by the proposal team
  • Support other team members and provide quality assurance in the form of proposal review and recommendations on improvements as needed
  • Provide oversight to the import, export and update of proposal data libraries and knowledge base
  • Train new team members in accordance with the policies and practices of the company
  • Lead and mentor staff to improve skillset and career potential
·         REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, health administration or related field
  • Minimum 5 to 8 years’ content development experience with a PBM/pharmacy business, commercial or government-funded health insurance plan (i.e. Medicare Part D/Advantage, Medicaid, ACO), or in the healthcare industry
·         Minimum 3 to 5 years’ project management and process improvement experience
·         Seasoned copy writer/communicator with design/layout experience
·         Direct organizational experience working cross-functionally within a company, interfacing with executive leaders of varying roles
  • Ability to exercise considerable judgment, maintain confidentiality, and act diplomatically
  • A good educator who is trustworthy and willing to share information and serve as a mentor
·         Ability to independently identify, research and resolve issues
·         An intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills

·         Proficient in Microsoft Office and industry related software programs, with intermediate to advanced experience in Microsoft Word
