Job Description
We are seeking an ambitious and highly-motivated Civil Project Manager with primary responsibilities for the planning, coordinating, and managing of capital construction projects focused on municipal water and wastewater infrastructure. You will identify and supervise the work of all design engineers, subcontractors, customer representatives, and government personnel. Knowledge of water/wastewater process flow, treatment technologies and equipment, civil construction, site planning, waterworks distribution systems, and related environmental permitting requirements is desired. This role is a key member of a larger engineering and operations team located in Georgia. You will lead projects throughout the Southeastern U.S., so regional overnight travel is required.

The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:
 
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or other related technical degree.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License or Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred, but not required.
  • 8+ years of progressively responsible project management experience within the municipal water utility sector.
  • 3-5 years of large civil construction project management or capital upgrade experience in areas of raw water filter plant rehabilitation, trihalomethane (THM) spraying system installations, tank and piping leak detection, pump stations, valve systems, instrumentation & controls, and water treatment solutions.
  • Strong supervisory skills with the ability to identify, train, and manage direct and indirect staff.
  • Ability to maintain construction project budgets and schedules in order to meet deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of relevant environmental and safety regulations including permitting, water quality, water supply, and other regulatory agency requirements.
  • Expertise reading/interpreting process flow diagrams (PFDs), process & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), electrical schematics, and other design drawings.
  • Working knowledge of 2-D AutoCAD.
  • Excellent organizational skills with high level of attention to detail.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills which includes effective negotiation skills.
  • Strong computer competency including use of CRM databases and MS Office software.
  • Ability and willingness to travel overnight up to 50%.
