SALES ENGINEER - HOUSTON TX
The role is based in the West Region and offers a company vehicle and the flexibility of working at home in the greater Houston, Texas area.
Under minimum supervision, you will execute a comprehensive sales effort focused primarily on securing new OEM customers for the company in order to grow revenue and increase market share. OEMs utilizing servo motion and variable frequency drives will be the primary target focus.
Position Duties and Responsibilities :
Prospect for potential customers through various direct and indirect methods
Develop target account plans outlining sales strategy specific for each account
Quickly establish relationships with target accounts and develop sales opportunities
Drive entire sales process from initial customer engagement through customer purchase order
Effectively manage and utilize all available resources when seeking solutions for a customer opportunity
Conduct product demonstrations, present technical information, and prepare proposals during sales process
Work with Field Application Engineers to develop solutions that address customer needs
Maintain a high level of machine automation knowledge in order to have meaningful conversations with targets and customers
Qualify prospects against company provided criteria for ideal customers and sales
Establish and maintain ongoing interdepartmental relationships and communications within company
Utilize company CRM tool to report on sales activity and opportunities, and maintain prospect and account information.
Travel Requirements: Travel primarily within territory.
Product knowledge/application experience in PLC, VFD, HMI, Servo/Motion products
Excellent track record developing large PLC, VFD, HMI, Servo/Motion OEMs
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Solid leadership skills
Possesses organizational skills to manage schedule, travel and project management
Computer proficiency; strong abilities with the following MS Office components: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Beneficial Skills and Experience:
Wilson CSP or equivalent sales process training
4 year Engineering Degree (BSEE, BSME) or equivalent experience
3-5 years OEM sales experience, prefer minimum 3 years’ experience as a Hunter
Minimum of 3-5 years Solution Sales experience at OEM customers in the territory
