Job Description
Join a global chemical leader as a Controls/ Instrument Specialist for a large multi plant operation in Eastern NC.  Duties will involve the design, installation, startup, and maintenance of plant "smart equipment" including PLCs, DCS, variable speed drives, HMIs, networking, server configuration and interface of power distribution and electrical systems. 
Responsibilities:
 
--- Assist in the planning and implementation for process automation for all operating areas.
--- Involved in programming and making modifications for computer control systems (includes:  Honeywell, Rockwell, Drive systems etc.…)
--- Responsible for process control networking protocols and hardware including Ethernet, Radio Frequency Ethernet, TCP/IP, fiber-optics, bridges, and routers and switches.
--- Write specifications for selection of new instrumentation and spare part stock.
--- Supports operation and maintenance of all plant networks/ systems including electrical, instruments and control equipment.
--- Assist in the maintenance of all existing instrumentation.
--- Train personnel in the operation and maintenance of computer controlled instrumentation.
--- Supervision of employee and contract work force during project execution and/or repair efforts.
--- Functions as a technical advisor and / or a team member to Chemical Plants and Maintenance I/E Teams. 
--- Assist in the formulation and implementation of the OSHA STAR Program.
 
Qualifications:
 
--- BS Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or Associates Degree in related field with 5+ years "Hands on" experience in design, installation and startup of process controls/ instrumentation systems (PLC, DCS, HMI, etc.) and servers/ networking.
--- Experience in process controls systems for chemical plant operations is required.
--- Knowledge of and experience in the process control networking protocols and hardware.
--- Skills include knowledge of test procedures and test equipment, an understanding of computer control and hardware, familiarization with control logic, and a solid background in electronics. 
--- Understanding of the electrical distribution system, motors, infra-red scanning, air conditioning, and electronics of plant infrastructure networking/ systems.
--- Knowledge of software used in the process control environment including but not limited to Virtual, Machine, Wonderware, Rockwell, Modicon, Mark IV, Honeywell etc…
--- Must provide proof of eligibility to work legally in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
