Manager, IT Security
Job Duties
The Manager-IT Security bears the responsibility of managing and ensuring the Companies security infrastructure and products are running optimally, effectively and capable of defending the company against the latest cyber attacks, data leakage, insider threats and unauthorized access. This also includes ensuring that infrastructure and services are deployed with the right balance of security and usability on premise or in the cloud.

The Manager-IT Security will be responsible for the designing, engineering and maintenance of security infrastructure and related systems. The candidate will lead and manage the company on delivering I.T. projects on time and within budget. The manager will also act as an expert level escalation point for security projects and operations. The candidate must be able to serve as a thought leader for established technologies as well as ahead-of-the-curve insight into emerging technologies and concepts and their impact to the company The manager will report to the VP of information Technology.

Job Qualifications
  • Manage and mentor a team located across multiple geographies.  Create and document protocols.  Train staff to assist with infrastructure, security and compliance related tasks.
  • Manage infrastructure and administer enterprise servers, data backup, network connectivity
  • Triage, document and manage support incidents.  Oversee issuance of company equipment and services and support for those services
  • Deploy and enforce IT policies for Sarbanes Oxley compliance (SOX) environments
  • Apply best practices for Microsoft server management.  Assist with the management and implementation of server and client patch management.
  • Apply best practice security models for network security and connectivity (e.g., ensure firmware and security software is up to date on all network end points and components).
  • Assist VP, IT with strategy and implementation of strategic, IT-related projects (e.g., continuous improvement program).
  • Develop and maintain patch management cycle which includes, but is not limited to, the following: Windows/Linux operating systems, Cisco, Dell, Sonicwall, Fortigate appliances, and Network storage devices.
  • Audit existing systems (including User Access, e-mail accounts, mobile devices and remote access) and google apps, document sharing permissions, external web application access controls and administrative changes.
  • Manage documentation and regular review of security and audit logs enterprise wide
  • Travel to Company sites as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • Proven experience with project development, integration and operation of servers, network systems, hardware, software and applications
  • Exceptional communication and project management skills.  This is a critical requirement for the role given the pace and growth rate of the organization. Exceptional organization and time-management skills.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience as a systems/network engineer within Windows operations systems.  Years of experience may be replaced with applicable certifications (ex. MCSE, MCSA).
  • 3+ years of relevant experience with Linux operating systems at an administrator level.
  • Advanced networking skills including best practices for network security.
  • Experience with Cisco, Sonicwall, and Fortinet security appliances.
  • Proficiency with deploying and supporting Microsoft Office products (i.e. Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and communicate at all levels within the Company.
Preferred Skills:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field.
  • Deep understanding of Windows Active Directory, including Microsoft best practices.
  • Understanding of data forensics including email header analysis, network and Windows forensics.
  • Experience with the enterprise level change management processes
