Leading tier I automotive supplier is seeking a Machining Engineering Supervisor to provide daily direction to a group of Process and Manufacturing Engineers. As the Machining Engineering Supervisor, you will report to an Engineering Manager.  Daily you will be responsible for the following tasks:  
  • Overseeing multiple capital equipment projects, including conceptualizing equipment, communicating with external vendors and managing timelines and budgets
  • Developing and mentoring staff, as well as holding other engineers accountable for projects and timelines
  • Programming CNC equipment to maximize production efficiencies  
  • Troubleshooting equipment as needed
  • Determining manufacturability of new product launches
  • Working with external vendors on fixture and tooling projects
  • Evaluating performance measurables and KPIs for the machining department
  • Other duties as directed by management
Candidates should enjoy working on multiple projects at a time, leading and developing the engineering staff and being hands on when troubleshooting machining issues. REQUIREMENTS for the Machining Engineering Supervisor:
1. A minimum of an Associate’s degree; a bachelor’s degree is highly preferred
2. A minimum of three years in a similar machining engineering supervision role  
3. Experience giving others daily direction
4. Experience working within CNC machining environments
5. Experience programming CNC equipment, either with G or M Code or CAD/CAM
6. Experience making process improvements to the production process    
7. Capital equipment project management
8. Automotive supplier experience   
9. Microsoft Office

Skills preferred but NOT required:
1. Working knowledge of HMIs and/or robotics
2. Fixture and tooling design
