Be on the cutting edge of helping to upgrade the aging water infrastructure and distribution systems throughout the U.S.!  We are seeking an experienced Field Service Manager to lead the deployment of maintenance and metal inspection crews that perform condition assessments and visual inspections of a wide variety of water storage tanks, metal surfaces, and water filtration media for a rapidly growing water services provider in the Central U.S.  Expertise with metal corrosion, commercial paint and coating analysis, and surface inspection techniques is preferred, but not required.  NACE corrosion certification is desired.  This position will manage a team of technicians, inspectors, and welders that support on-site tank wash outs and surface inspections at a variety of municipal potable drinking water facilities located in a multi-state region in the Central U.S.  Periodic overnight travel is required to visit customer sites.

Essential job functions include:
  • Maintain daily/weekly schedule of service crews, equipment, and supplies.
  • Manage maintenance crews that inspect all physical assets of a customer’s water supply system, including storage towers, clear wells, in-ground wells, and filter media.
  • Maintain high Safety standards with all service contracts and company personnel at all times.
  • Ensure consistent adherence to contract terms such as: pricing, cost, quality, environmental compliance, reporting requirements, documentation of service provided, etc.
  • Manage subcontractors and temporary labor support as needed.
  • Lead implementation of “best practices” in maintenance and operations to ensure consistency of services being delivered from site to site and project to project.
  • Assist with evaluating new projects by interpreting scopes of work for tank renovations, maintenance programs, and other project leads.
  • Travel periodically to project sites to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
Requirements include:
  • High School Diploma or GED required. BS/BA degree in a Technical field preferred.
  • 5+ years of Water Industry, Commercial Painting, Metal Coatings, or Construction Management experience.
  • 2+ years as a Manager or Supervisor of operations, maintenance, or field service personnel.
  • NACE corrosion certification is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with industrial coatings, commercial painting, metal surface cleaning/preparation, or ROV inspections is preferred. 
  • Well-rounded mechanical aptitude and familiarity with pumps, motors, valves, flanges, seals, piping, tanks, sensors, instrumentation, etc.
  • Experience mentoring and leading direct reports to meet annual targets and goals.
  • Must be comfortable climbing large outdoor storage towers, with safety harness, over 100 ft. tall. 
  • Organized and detail oriented with the ability manage multiple project priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficient with software such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel periodically overnight (<25%). 
  • Valid drivers license with good driving record.
