Position Summary & Expected Results:
The IT Director is responsible for all company technology including hardware, software, telecommunications and phones along with the application of those items to support and enhance business operations and processes. This role ensures that the appropriate technology and infrastructure is available to support the achievement of company short and long-term business goals and objectives. The IT Director develops strategic plans and risk management strategies to support the installation of technology products that reduce costs and/or enhance business performance. This position allocates sufficient resources and manages Information Technology Department staff, both in-house and external, so that information systems are designed, built, and operated in a manner that is secure, reliable, manageable, and consistent with the company’s business objectives and is a key member of the Management Team. Occasional travel for business is required.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following

Maintains knowledge and use of strategic Information Systems and business software applications to enhance the performance of company in keeping with industry best practices.
Develops new information systems architectures, strategies, and processes that are intended to advance business objectives.
Monitors the company's systems development processes to ensure that all necessary and appropriate steps have been performed prior to bringing up an application in a production operating environment.
Acts as Project Leader/Manager to translate user/business requirements into detail project definition and implementation specifications that support ongoing business improvements and expansion.
Evaluates user department business requirements and creates practical application solutions to achieve those requirements.
Provides technical support consulting services to users and user department managers so as to allow them to achieve business goals, while at the same time ensuring that the envisioned system is adequately secure, reliable, manageable, and supportable.
Develop, test, deploy and support application programs between various applications and SQL server enterprise-wide shared data store using a variety of tools in compliance with Information Technology approved security policies and procedures.
Perform periodic risk assessments to determine specifically which controls are needed for business application software being developed or enhanced.
Diligently and clearly documents all application systems developed in-house to facilitate future maintenance and enhancements.
Develops and maintains all Information Technology policies and standard operating procedures.
Perform application maintenance and user support requirements as necessary.
Generate reports and other data retrieval tasks as required.

Maintains professional self-development through participation in user group and other industry-related conferences and educational opportunities
Supervise direct reports by providing coaching, feedback, reminders and mentoring as appropriate to enhance the functioning of the team
Maintain positive employee relations through fair and consistent application of company policies and procedures and use of direct and proactive communication skills
Apply the company’s corrective action process to monitor and improve performance, attendance, and conduct/behavior issues
Prepare and communicate regular performance appraisals and development plans for assigned employees in conjunction with the company’s standards
Take an active role in resolving and mediating employee conflict situations in a timely and appropriate manner, consulting with and/or referring such matters to Human Resources as needed
Review and approve vacation requests, and completes required paper work and administrative tasks
Approve/ make recommendations about appropriate staffing levels
Participate in interviewing, selecting, orientating and training new staff members
Conduct regular meetings with team members as a group and individually, and educates team on company and department procedures, changes, new information, etc., asking for input and obtaining support and buy-in from the team.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education & Experience:
BS/ BA degree in Business, Information Technology or other closely related field.
MBA or other advanced degree is a plus.
At least 7 year’s information management experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment with progressively higher levels of responsibility.
At least 2 years’ experience in a supervisory role.
