DIRECTOR OF FINANCE IMPACT:

The Director of Finance works with the members of the Finance department and executive management to minimize balance sheet risk and add to our financial strength. The Director leads the Financial Analysts in providing timely, accurate information to help drive effective decision making. This position proactively develops ideas and strategies to ensure we achieve financial success. The Director performs duties in compliance with regulatory requirements including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act.

DIRECTOR OF FINANCE DETAILS:

1. Manage direct reports to maximize productivity, efficiency, and the potential of the human assets, including: hiring, directing job assignments, monitoring staff performance, coaching, counseling, training, assuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational mission, values, policies and work rules. Appraise performance and provide recommendations for staff compensation, promotion, and termination, as appropriate. Prepare, present and adhere to annual budget for department.

2. Proactively recommend strategies that help us achieve financial goals. Strategies will include: deposit and loan pricing, interest rate risk management, product structures, liquidity management, enhancements to fee revenue, and other strategies that will contribute to our financial stability and success.

3. Manage reporting functions, including recurring reports and ad hoc requests. All reporting and analytics should be completed with a high level of intelligence and accuracy. Improve effectiveness of reporting, including creating reports more efficiently, streamlining distribution processes and increasing the quality of information that is produced.

4. Provide leadership throughout Budget and ALM processes. Forecast interest bearing accounts and fee revenue. Review and verify all inputs and results. Coordinate the Asset Liability Management (ALM) packet each quarter including but not limited to: managing the comprehensive ALM risk analysis, developing savings rate recommendations, and any other analysis that impacts balance sheet management.

5. Collaborate with the CFO to manage our Investment and Borrowing portfolios utilizing the Total Return and Total Cost methodology. Manage Investment reporting functions including the monthly Board report, pre-purchase write ups, total return lookbacks, and any other report or analysis that helps support effective Investment portfolio management. Recommend borrowing strategies that reduce interest rate risk and facilitate effective liquidity management, while minimizing projected total cost across interest rate scenarios. 

DIRECTOR OF FINANCE BACKGROUND:

Educational Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or other related discipline required
• Masters in Business Administration preferred

Certificates/Licenses
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Certified Financial Officer preferred
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license

Experience 
• 6 years’ experience in accounting or finance related work
• Experience in banking or credit union with exposure to banking operations and terminology preferred
• 2 year’s supervisory experience in a related field
