Position Summary
Seeking a Corporate Tax Manager to provide clients with premier client service, deliver tax compliance and advisory services, and implement tax strategies which align with a client’s overall business goals. The Manager will also manage the department and professionals, provide career guidance, and ensure outstanding client service across all levels.
Minimum Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance and CPA required, Master’s in Taxation or MBA preferred.
  • 7-10 years’ continuous federal/state tax consulting and/or compliance experience in public accounting.
  • Experience in corporate tax compliance and ASC 740-10 (FAS 109 and FIN 48).
  • Exhibit superior verbal and written skills.
  • Strong client service skills with ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
  • Exhibit superior organizational and project management to ensure the success of multiple engagements with multiple teams.
  • Ability to effectively delegate work as needed.
  • Experience supervising engagement team members and instructing them on completing assigned tasks.
  • Experience and comfort developing new business or expanding existing client business.
  • Ability to listen and respond effectively with good judgment.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manage and monitor multiple client engagements by providing timely, high quality service that meets or exceeds client expectations.
  • Provide corporate tax compliance services through primary and secondary review of complex income tax returns, including C-Corps and Partnerships.
  • Assist clients in ASC 740, including calculation and/or review for both privately held and public companies.
  • Provide tax consulting and develop innovative strategies for a dynamic client base.
  • Provide advisory services to clients regarding federal and state tax audits and notices.
  • Conduct tax research for various client situations.
  • Responsible for budget management and resolution of billing or fee issues.
  • Maintain an open line of communication with the engagement team, engagement partner, and clients.
  • Actively participate in firm administration as appropriate (i.e. focus groups, dept initiatives, scheduling).
  • Contribute to the ongoing development/enhancement of tax department policies and procedures.
  • Participate in external and internal presentations and training.
  • Facilitate professional development to enhance technical skills of tax department members.
  • Collaborate with members to develop a team environment.
  • Work closely with partners on proposals and business development activities.
  • Responsible for direct client nurturing activities.
  • Identify service opportunities with existing clients and actively work with the engagement partner through the sales process.
