Job Description
The value of this position is the candidate’s ability to “wear multiple hats” by having  varied  skills  and  experience. This position requires experience and ability regarding client maintenance and occasional business development   of pre-qualified customers (not cold calling). Provide project team management and technical leadership, assuming primary responsibility for project contracts, goals, scope, budget and schedule on all assigned projects. Act as primary liaison with clients and coordination with outside consultants through all phases of project.
 

Education, Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

  • Professional degree (Bachelor of Architecture or Masters) from an accredited school of architecture is a minimum requirement
  • Architectural Registration required
  • LEED AP
 Experience/ Skills and Abilities
  • Minimum of 8 years' office experience with project management emphasis
  • Experience and knowledge in project financial areas to include fee/profit determination, budget projections, tracking, and owner financing
  • Experience and ability in working successfully within a project team environment.
  • Strong team skills including effective communications, motivating, coaching and conflict resolution
  • Ability to deliver superior customer service
  • Computer literacy Microsoft Office Proficiency is a must and BIM (Revit) preferred
  • Demonstrated technical competency in all phases of architectural services
  • Ability to delegate significant responsibility to team members
  • Ability to negotiation
  • Strong presentation skills for in-house staff, clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies
  • Ability to effectively handle the demands of several projects, including deadlines and financial pressures
  • In-depth understanding of construction methods and materials and their costs
  • In-depth understanding of architectural practice including office standards, AIA documents and other standards of the construction industry
  • Strong personal organization and time management skills
  • Strong capacity for innovation and creativity in dealing with project management strategies
  • Thorough knowledge of building codes, zoning codes, environmental regulations, ADA requirements, and other pertinent laws and review processes
  • Working knowledge of architectural design/planning issues with design sensitivity in making project management decisions
  • Good judgment and decision-making abilities
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)
  • Develop project scope, budgets and schedules, and develop strategies with project team members to insure all project goals are achieved
  • With assistance from the project team, develop detailed work plan, project flow chart, PM checklist and other automated management tools
  • Conduct regular internal team meetings to review project status, outstanding issues and plans of action
  • Encourage open communication and active participation in project issues by all team members
  • Pro-actively lead clients through all project phases with effective communications, aggressive project planning/scheduling, concise recommendations and strong direction of the decision-making process
  • Effectively lead the project team, promoting mutual respect, while challenging and motivating team members
  • Ensure all team members have clear goals and understand specific expectations on all projects.
  • Delegate responsibility to the most effective level possible
  • Develop and manage project budgets and manpower while achieving established profit goals
  • Actively support established design goals and concepts on all projects
  • Participate in the production of drawing and be involved in solving design and technical issues
  • Actively participate in project marketing to include presentations, proposal preparation, and selection of project consultants
  • Responsible for manpower analysis, fee determination, fee negotiations (Owner and consultants) and contract execution
  • Manage all contractual issues in coordination with the Project Principal, to include scope changes, billing and collections
  • Strongly promote the highest quality of services to all project team members including Owner, consultants and contractor(s)
  • Effectively communicate project issues and decisions through telephone conversations, meetings, memos, transmittals, letters and reports
  • Clearly document issues as appropriate for future reference or use
  • Actively communicate project status with Project Principal and Projects Division Director
Actively review and utilize Company, AIA and other standards, forms, and procedures that define the company process
